Sligo racecourse

Sligo Town, in the heart of Yeats country, boasts one of the most scenic racecourses in the country.

Sligo is located in the north west of Ireland. 212km from Dublin, 142km from Galway and 203 km from Belfast. Racing at Sligo has been taking place since 1781 but only on its present site since 1955 and stages both National Hunt and Flat races. It is right-handed and one mile in length with a steady incline to the finish.

Road: The racecourse is situated at Cleveragh, half a mile from the town centre, just off the Dublin-Sligo Road
Rail: Sligo station. Taxi service runs from the station to the racecourse

Flat: A right-handed sharp undulating circuit of 1m with sweeping bends.
Jumps: Its well built fences present jumpers with a very fair test. 5 fences per circuit.
