Sandown racecourse

All year-round jump and Flat racing of quality makes Sandown Park in Esher, Surrey, a popular destination and an easy one with a train station nearby and London only 15 miles away. The jumps course in particular can be quite testing while there is a separate five-furlong chute which provides exciting sprint finishes.

The Coral Eclipse Stakes is the main summer event on the level, while the Tingle Creek and Betfred Gold Cup feature in the jumps calendar.

Flat: Right-hand oval course of 1m 5f with a stiff four furlongs run-in. The emphasis is very much on stamina and resolution, high numbers have a marked advantage on soft going.
Jumps: Right-hand oval course of 1m 5f with an uphill run-in of 300yds. The emphasis is very much on stamina and jumping ability, with eleven tough fences and six hurdles per circuit.
