Newbury racecourse

A mile from the town centre, the racecourse is signposted from the M4 and A34. It is one of Britain's premier tracks with top-class racing on the flat and over jumps with £2million in prize money on offer. The top prizes include the Hennessy Gold Cup and the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes.

It is a left-handed track of about one mile seven furlongs with a straight mile. Racing has taken place at its present site since 1910.

Flat: Left-hand oval course of 1m 6f with a run-in of about five furlongs. Slightly undulating, wide and galloping in nature with high numbers best in big fields.
Jumps: Left-hand oval course of 1m 6f with a run-in of 255yds. Slightly undulating, wide and galloping in nature having eleven stiff fences and seven hurdles per circuit.
